ISAS Tennis

Hi ISAS Members,

Well the weather predicts another crappy rainy weekend! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can't predict shit and the weather will be amazing! If so I am scheduling tennis for Saturday at 3 pm at the South Loop courts (under the roosevelt bridge). If it can't be done this weekend tennis will be moved to next weekend. Hope you can make it!

Baseball

Hi Everyone,

As promised this Saturday the 19th will be baseball!!! I've had a lot of great responses about people wanting to play so I hope you can all make it. I am very low on equipment, I have as follows: 3 baseballs, 1 softball bat, and 2 gloves for Tom and me. So please bring your own gloves and any extras so we can share. Also please email me if you would like to play I have no idea who is coming and would like to get a good count. Meeting at the Lincoln Park. Take the red line to Sheridan go east on Irving Park Road straight to the park and follow the signs to the baseball diamonds.

Baseball!

Hey Sportsfans,

Next Saturday, April 19th is BASEBALL!!!  We will be playing at the Lincoln Park on the North Side (see below for directions).  Meet up time is 2:00pm sharp at the baseball diamonds.  I'm going to try to buy some equipment this weekend but if you have any we can use please let me know.  And as always, comment back on this blog if you can make it.  I'm aiming for two full teams (18 people) so call all your friends!!

Caroline

Directions:
Take the red line to the Sheridan stop and walk east on Irving Park Road until you get to the park.  There are signs for where the baseball diamonds are but I think they are just South of the tennis courts.  Or you can get off at Addison and walk east to the park but its harder to cross over.  Address is 2045 N. Lincoln Park West 60614.  That isn't baseball diamond accurate but its the best I could find.  See you there!!!

Weather Update

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately it looks like this weekend (April 12th) is going to be snowy and rainy so I am officially postponing ISAS until next weekend when it should be sunny and warm. That weekend will be Baseball. I don't have any baseball equipment so please let me know if you have something we can play with. I haven't decided on a location yet but our choices so far are Grant Park or The Lincoln Park. Let me know your preference and I will decide based on majority. Also for baseball we need a bare minimum of 5 people per team (3 basemen, catcher, pitcher) so please tell all your friends! Contact me via email: isasclub@gmail.com or by phone (312)315-0656. If you are interested in playing just add a comment to this blog or the next one when I will post specifics.

Thank you everyone!

Capture the Flag

Hi All,

Thanks to everyone (Adam, Erin, John, Graham, Reuben, Tom and Gabe) who came out for Capture the Flag . We all had a great time and I think we all feel very sore from all the running around. Next weekend it looks like its going to snow and rain but if things look better we'll do baseball. I will keep you posted.

ISAS Meeting #2

Hello friends!

Well I'm keeping a close eye on the weather but it looks like next weekend will be warm and sunny! Hurrah! I've gotten a bunch of great suggestions from everyone about sports we can play and I am really excited to annouce that next Saturday, April 5th will be hackysac/Capture the Flag day! We will be playing in Grant Park starting at 2 pm and Meeting in front of the John Logan Statue (look, he's captured the flag). However, we can only play this if a good number of people show up so try to get as many as possible to join us. If we don't have enough people we will play tennis instead. If you would like to join or have any friends who want to just reply to this post by clicking "comment" or just send me an email.

See you there!

Saturday March 29th

Hello ISAS members,

Saturday is a go for tennis. We will be meeting at 1pm at the apartment 801 S. Plymouth Ct #711. We will head for the courts at 1:15. Anyone late should call for instructions on how to get to the court (just down the street). So I can have an idea on who will be coming, please write a comment to this post saying if you will attend. Please be sure to bring your own tennis racket and tennis balls if you have them. (rackets are $15 at Target). Please comment or email me with questions.

See you on the court!

First Meeting

Hey Sports Fans,

So I have decided to make this Saturday, March 29 the first meeting of ISAS. The plan is to go play tennis at the courts in the South Loop. And by tennis I mean hitting the ball back and forth. Anyone is welcome to join but please bring your own rackets! If the weather sucks the plan is to go indoors to play Wii tennis. A nice compensation I think. All are welcome! Please email me if you would like to join.

Welcome

Hello Friends!

So here it is the official blog for the ISAS club 2008! This club is for anyone who wishes to join. ISAS means I Suck At Sports and the intention is to go out and play sports just because its fun. All levels of sportiness are welcome we only ask that those who are quite good be kind to those of us (ie:me) who are no good! I would love to hear any suggestions regarding meeting dates/times, equipment, sports we can play and where we can play them. For the most part we will be in the south loop area as I have tennis courts that are always empty and a big field for field games. I've yet to find a basketball court near here but its just a matter of time. I am also considering having T-shirts made. Thanks everyone and please send me feedback.
